Chlamydia Screening Among Sexually Active Young Female Enrollees Of Health Plans - United States, 2000-2007

In an analysis of data reported by commercial and Medicaid health plans to the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), CDC found that the percentage of young (age 16 - 25) sexually active women screened for chlamydia in the U.S. increased consistently between 2000 and 2006 - from 25.3 percent to 43.6 percent, but declined slightly in 2007 to 41.6 percent. The highest regional rate of chlamydia screening in 2007 was in the Northeast (45.
