New Genetic Link For Alzheimer’s In Women
New research suggests that a variant in a gene on the X chromosome is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease in women. The study will be published online in Nature Genetics. This exciting research may enhance our understanding of the genetic variations in Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s Society research shows that twice as many women than men over 65 have dementia. One in three people over 65 die with dementia.
