U.S. Lutheran Bishops Agree To HIV And AIDS Testing
In response to the development of an HIV and AIDS strategy by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the ELCA Conference of Bishops agreed to the presence of health screeners at its March 5-10, 2009, meeting for the purpose of providing HIV and AIDS testing to all members. The ELCA Conference of Bishops is an advisory body of the church that includes the ELCA’s 65 synod bishops, presiding bishop and secretary. Its March 2009 meeting is to be held in Itasca, Ill.
