Prostate Cancer: Research I - Coverage From The 60th Annual Congress Of The German Urological Association
STUTTGART, GERMANY (UroToday.com) - Stem cell markers are upregulated in prostate cancer cells during progression towards androgen independence. Authors from Switzerland investigated the cell line LnCAP as well as different derivates from this cell line. Gene-specific mRNA was measured by RT-PCR and compared to the parental LnCAP cell line. While the androgen receptor expression decreased in the LnCAP cell line, this was not the case in derivate cell lines.
