Salix Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. (NASDAQ:SLXP) today announced findings from two analyses of a Phase II clinical trial that demonstrate the utility of rifaximin, a non-absorbed, gut-selective antibiotic, in the treatment of patients with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
