Los Angeles Times Examines Issues Surrounding Leftover Embryos
The Los Angeles Times on Monday examined how couples with some of the estimated 500,000 frozen embryos in the U.S. leftover from fertility treatments are “finding themselves ensnared in a debate about when life begins.” About half of couples who have in vitro fertilization procedures end up with at least one embryo that is frozen and not transferred to the uterus.
