Inferring Malaria Parasite Population Structure From Serological Networks

The malaria parasite population is extremely genetically diverse, and the relationship between parasite genotypes and disease profiles among individuals in endemic regions is poorly understood. Here, we analyse patterns of parasite recognition from Kenyan children using a novel network technique, and show that indirect information about parasite population structure can be inferred from these serological relationships.
