The High-Resolution Genomic Profiling Using Whole-Genome Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Genotyping In Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma
ORLANDO, FL (UroToday.com) - A chip with some 370,00 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) markers was used to evaluate the DNA fingerprint of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Extremely high resolution DNA changes were detected. Most changes were seen on the short arm of the chromosome 3, confirming the role of the VHL gene in pathogenesis of ccRCC. Application of this technique to other RCC subtypes should prove informative.
