African-American Veterans Are Less Likely To Adhere To CPAP Than Caucasian Or Asian Veterans

African-American war veterans are significantly less likely to adhere to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) than Caucasian or Asian veterans, according to a research abstract presented on Monday at SLEEP 2008, the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies (APSS).The study, authored by Skai W. Schwartz, of the University of South Florida, focused on 1,486 patients who were prescribed and tried CPAP between 2003-2007.
