A Prescription For Trouble For America’s Baby Boomers
The aging U.S. population presents our healthcare system with the challenge of providing world-class care in the face of rapidly rising costs. In 2000 those aged sixty-five years and older numbered thirty-five million, a number that is expected to double by 2030. An enormous problem looms ahead for the Baby Boomers: an aging population faced with an imperfect healthcare system that does not place enough emphasis on geriatric care.
