Missouri House Preliminarily Approves Omnibus Antiabortion Bill

The Missouri House on Tuesday voted 108-33 to preliminarily approve a bill (HB 1831) that includes multiple restrictions on abortion rights, the AP/St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Tenn. Senate Committee Sends Abortion Waiting Period Bill To Study Committee

The Tennessee Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday voted 5-3 to send a bill (SB 3512) that would require a 24-hour waiting period prior to abortions and require physicians to obtain “informed consent” to a committee that will study it this summer, the AP/Jackson Sun reports.

Trubion Announces Initiation Of Phase 1 Study Of SBI-087 For The Treatment Of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Medication Improves Driving Ability ADHD Patients

The use of the medication methylphenidate considerably improves the driving ability of people with ADHD. This was shown in research done by Joris Verster of Utrecht University, The Netherlands. The study will appear in the May 2008 issue of Journal of Psychopharmacology.People with ADHD are often prescribed methylphenidate (brand name Ritalin) to counteract hyperactive behavior and attention dysfunction that may negatively affect their driving ability.

Rat Study Suggests Why Teens Get Hooked On Cocaine More Easily Than Adults, And Find It Harder To Quit

New drug research suggests that teens may get addicted and relapse more easily than adults because developing brains are more powerfully motivated by drug-related cues. This conclusion has been reached by researchers who found that adolescent rats given cocaine - a powerfully addicting stimulant - were more likely than adults to prefer the place where they got it.
