According to two studies published on bmj.com,the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) spends £100million eachyear to assist people with non-insulin treated type 2 diabetes controltheir own blood sugar levels. However, rather than providing long-termhealth benefits, the process increases a patient’s likelihood ofbecoming depressed and anxious.One in every twenty people around the world suffers from diabetes.
