On April 8, 2008, the European Commission made a decision to allow thedrug ABILIFYŽ (aripiprazole) to be marketed. ABILIFY treats moderate tosevere manic episodes for patients with Bipolar I Disorder and it isdesigned to prevent new manic episodes in patients who experiencepredominately manic episodes.Before this decision, the European Committee for Medicinal Products forHuman Use (CHMP) issued a positive opinion in mid-February 2008.
