UroToday.com - Dr. Valentini, et al. from Paris, France reviewed the role and tolerability of urodynamics in the elderly. In an analysis of 67 women with a mean age of 83 years, they found a higher incidence of detrusor overactivity as compared to women less than 80 years old (42% vs. 32%). Other statistically significant findings included a higher incidence of rhythmic rectal contractions and lower incidence of intrinsic sphincter deficiency.Dr.
