Do We Need To Reassess Diabetes Diagnostics?
A recent Article published in The Lancet suggeststhat the criteria for diagnosing diabetes mellitus could needreassessment. This conclusion comes from a study that looks at theconnection between diabetes mellitus and a frequent diabeticcomplication called retinopathy.Diabetes mellitus is a disorder due to an inability of pancreatic cellsto produce enough insulin in order to prevent inappropriately highblood sugar (hyperglycemia).
