ASHP To Give Feedback On Proposed Rule For Medical Error Reporting System

ASHP will offer its perspectives on proposed regulations that will set up a framework to enable healthcare providers to voluntarily report medical errors and near misses. The proposed regulation will implement the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act, legislation passed in 2005, that establishes a framework to report errors to new patient safety organizations (PSOs) confidentially and with protections from liability.
