UroToday.com - AT1 receptor blockers (ARBs) possessing our experimental demonstrations may offer clinical efficacy in patients with hormone refractory prostate cancer (HRPC).In practice, we conducted a pilot clinical study to examine whether an ARB (candesartan) was able to clinically elicit an antiproliferative effect on hormone-refractory prostate cancer. Surprisingly, a quarter of patients with a PSA decline of more than 50% showed an improvement in performance status.
