Minister Announces Commencement Of Commission On Nurses Working Hours, Ireland

The Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney TD, yesterday, the 11th of February, 2008, announced the commencement of the work of the Commission on Nurses’ Working Hours. The Commission will carry out an independent assessment of how a 35 hour week for Nurses/Midwives can be achieved, as recommended by the National Implementation Body (NIB) following last year’s industrial action by nurses and midwives.
