Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus Can Replicate In Human Cells
Mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) — which causes mammary cancer in mice — can replicate and spread in human cells, research published this week shows. The study, published in the online open access journal Retrovirology, adds weight to the theory that MMTV might be involved in causing human breast cancer.The idea that MMTV is involved in human breast cancer has been around for over 50 years.
