Pupils Go To Local Pub For Lunch Since The Smoking Ban
In a trial to provide school dinners pupils have been popping into their local pub at lunchtimes. Hot meals were last served at Stoke Bruerne Primary School in Northants two years ago after caterers said cooking for the 52 pupils was not profitable. Government rules coming into force in 2008 means schools must provide hot meals, prompting a deal between the governors and the Boat Inn. The school said the plan was helped by the smoking ban.
