UK Initiative To Encourage Veterinary Research Training And Study Diseases That Can Cross The Species Barrier From Animals To Humans
The threat posed to animal and human health by emerging diseases — in many cases exacerbated by unprecedented movement and trade and by climate change — highlights the continuing need for academics trained in the veterinary sciences.The Wellcome Trust, the UK’s largest medical research charity, announced the launch of a new £10.7m initiative to provide support for a range of activities designed to encourage veterinarians to take up research careers.
